  ACUPRESSURE TREATMENT

Recommended for everyone.

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing. Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses the gentle but firm pressure of hands (and even feet). Acupressure can be effective in helping relieve headaches, eyestrain, sinus problems, neck pain, backaches, arthritis, muscle aches, and tension due to stress. It has also shown to relieve ulcer pain, menstrual cramps, lower back aches, constipation, and indigestion. You can also use self-acupressure to relieve anxiety and to help you get to sleep at night.

Procedure: Session is conducted on your hands and feet. Sock, shoe and glove removal required.

  ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT

Recommended for everyone.

The term "acupuncture" describes a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical points on the body using a variety of techniques. The acupuncture technique that has been most often studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.Acupuncture needles are metallic, solid, and hair-thin. People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel no or minimal pain as the needles are inserted. Some people feel energized by treatment, while others feel relaxed. Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical technique for unblocking chi (ch'i or qi) by inserting needles at particular points. When a person is sick, diseased, or injured, there is an obstruction of chi along one of the meridians. Traditional Chinese medicine has identified some 500 specific points where needles are to be inserted for specific effects.

Procedure: Patient is laying down on a comfortable table.

  BONE DENSITY - (OSTEOPOROSIS TEST)

Recommended for men and women.

Bone density is used to diagnosis Osteoporosis and may identify bone loss. An ultra sound test using a bone sonometer to determine bone mass density of the heel. Exercise and calcium intake is critical to good strong bone health. Risk factors to consider testing are: thin or small frame, personal or family history of osteoporosis, post-menopause, abnormal absence of menstrual periods, a diet low in calcium for most of your life, lack of vitamin D (sunlight), inactive lifestyle, cigarette smoking, excessive alcohol, and or caffeine use, and use of certain medications, such as corticosteroids and anticonvulsants. Bone Density test should be performed at least once for possible early detection, and checked more often if experiencing several risk factors. Women face a higher risk than men for osteoporosis because men start with higher bone density and lose calcium at a slower rate than women. Testing is recommended for men over the age of 50, or at risk for osteoporosis. Testing for Women is recommended if they are at risk for osteoporosis, are postmenopausal, are between the ages of 40 and 65 or who are interested in maintaining healthy bones.

Procedure: A bare heel is placed in the machine suspended on a pad while the computer takes readings.

  CAROTID ARTERY TEST

Recommended for everyone, even healthy people.

An ultra sound test that visualizes the neck arteries for the build up of plaque, and measures blood flow velocity. This test is used to aid in the detection of a possible stroke, heart attack, or poor eating habits. A bare neck is required. You should consider testing if you: have family history of early age heart disease, stroke or heart attack, and/or have high cholesterol. Over the age of 40, should be tested for possible early detection. This test is beneficial for both men and women. Carotid artery test should be performed AT least once after the age of 40, and earlier and annually if high risk factors are involved. This test at the doctor's office requires jumping through the referral process. Most insurances require that you have already had a stroke in order for them to cover the average $700 bill.

Procedure: Applies gel and an instrument head to the bare neck. No restrictive collars such as a turtleneck please.

  COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT

Recommended for everyone, even healthy people.

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) test is an automated count of the cells in the blood. A standard CBC includes the following:
number of white blood cells (WBC)
number of red blood cells (RBC)
hemoglobin content (Hgb)
hematocrit (Hct)
mean corpuscular volume (MCV)
mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH)
mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC)
platelet count and volume.

Values which are outside of expected normal ranges
may indicate problems requiring further medical evaluation. It is important to know your blood cell counts, especially when you are healthy. When you become ill and then rerun a CBC test, you will have something to compare to. This helps determines if disease is present.

Procedure: A small sample of blood is required. Blood draw method. Fasting not required.

  EAR CANDLING TREATMENT

Recommended for everyone.

There’s nothing worse than experiencing ear pain or sinus headaches where you can’t work, think or sleep. For thousands of years, a form of hygiene known as Ear Candling, was used as a way of naturally cleansing the inside of the ears and head.
Today, more and more are seeking alternatives to digging in the ears with Q-tips or using a hydrogen peroxide flush to clear blockages in the ear canal.
Ear Candling is a natural, non-intrusive procedure that may help alleviate the painful effects of chronic headaches or sinus conditions, ear infections, allergies or vertigo, as well as minor hearing loss due to excessive earwax build up.

Procedure: A paper cone (candle) is gently inserted in the ear canal safely lit. It then burns a short distance while drawing up the ear wax into the "candle". Once removed the candle is opened for you to view..

  FLU SHOTS

Recommended for everyone, even healthy people.

Influenza is most often known as the flu. Treated or untreated, most influenza infections will go away within 1 or 2 weeks, although fatigue and a cough may last awhile longer. A few people, however, may develop serious secondary complications. These complications often arise just as influenza symptoms are fading. Anyone is susceptible to complications from the flu, but the very young, the elderly, and patients who are immune compromised or who have pre-existing lung disease are most affected. Complications such as pneumonia, sepsis, and encephalitis can be very serious and may require immediate medical treatment. The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and people with chronic medical conditions.

Procedure: A quick injection is administered, usually in the arm.

Additional Information

There are some people who should not be vaccinated without first consulting a physician. These include:people who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs, people who have had a severe reaction to an influenza vaccination and people who have a moderate-to-severe illness with a fever (they should wait until they recover to get vaccinated.)

  FOOT DETOX THERAPY

Recommended for everyone.

Foot Detox is a process of body detoxification as well as foot cleansing by removal of harmful toxins from the body. Cleansing is done by various methods like detox foot bath, detox foot pads and patches. The foot detox method consists in placing the feet in a ‘foot spa’ of warm water, which houses the ‘detox unit’. A sophisticated mechanism causes ionization of the water, which can help re-balance Electromagnetic forces in the body. The water starts out clean and clear but then changes color due to the release of toxic substances through the pores of the feet.

Procedure: Feet are immersed in a detoxifying solution and cleaned after session. Removal of socks and shoes required.

FULL LIPID CHOLESTEROL & GLUCOSE TEST - Total lipid panel plus glucose and ratio- (Fasting)

Recommended for everyone.

A blood draw to determine the amount of cholesterol (a white, waxy, fat-like substance found in everyone's body). High cholesterol is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease.
Risk factors to consider for ALL types of cholesterol testing: lack of exercise, overweight, alcohol use, diet high in saturated fats, stress, family or personal history of early age high cholesterol, stroke, high blood pressure, and/or heart disease. Cholesterol checks should be performed at least once for possible early detection, and annually thereafter. If diagnosed with high cholesterol, test should be performed more often.Cholesterol should be measured when a person is not ill. Blood cholesterol is temporarily low during acute illness, immediately following a heart attack, or during stress (like from surgery or an accident). You should wait at least 6 weeks after any illness to have cholesterol measured.
There is some debate about whether very low cholesterol is bad. Low cholesterol is often seen when there is an existing problem like malnutrition, liver disease, or cancer.

What your numbers mean:
Total Cholesterol - should be less than 200
LDL - should be less than 100
HDL - should be higher than 40
Triglycerides - should be less than 200
Glucose - should be under 110 when fasting

Procedure: A simple finger stick or regular blood draw is used. Fasting is required for lipid panel.

  HEARING TESTING

Recommended for everyone.

A hearing (audiometric) test is part of an ear examination that evaluates a person's ability to hear by measuring the ability of sound to reach the brain.
Sounds are actually vibrations of different frequencies and intensities in the air around us. Air in the ear canals and bones in the ears and skull help these vibrations travel from the ear to the brain, where you "hear" them. Hearing tests check for hearing loss, identify how severe it is, and determine what is causing it. Hearing tests help determine what kind of hearing loss you have by measuring your ability to hear sounds that reach the inner ear through the ear canal (air-conducted sounds) and sounds transmitted through bones (bone-conducted sounds).
Most hearing tests ask you to respond to a series of tones or words, but there are some hearing tests that do not require a response.

Procedure: Head phones are worn to conduct test in a quiet and private room.

  MAMMOGRAMS

Recommended for women over age 30 or high risk.

Mammograms are probably the most important tool doctors have to help them diagnose, evaluate, and follow women who've had breast cancer. Safe and highly accurate, a mammogram is an X-ray photograph of the breast.
Mammograms don't prevent breast cancer, but they can save lives by finding breast cancer as early as possible.Finding breast cancers early with mammography has also meant that many more women being treated for breast cancer are able to keep their breasts. When caught early, localized cancers can be removed without resorting to breast removal.

Procedure: Mobile mammography van brought onsite for private testing. Can not test through clothing.

  NUTRITIONAL RESPONSE TESTING

Recommended for everyone.

NRT is a structured form of Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) Feedback testing. NRT is a verifiable and reproducible discipline of which uses muscle testing to analyze autonomic nervous system (ANS) disturbances. Problems with ANS function will ultimately cause disease and/or breakdown of any organs and tissues. It is based on the currently known neurological anatomy and physiology of the ANS. With Nutrition Response Testing, instead of connecting electrodes to the specific points being tested, the Nutrition Response Testing doctor contacts these points with his/her own hand. With his other hand, he/she will test the muscle strength of your extended arm. If the reflex being contacted is active, the nervous system will respond by reducing energy to the extended arm, and the arm will weaken and drop. This drop signifies underlying dysfunction, which can be affecting your health.

Procedure: Slight pressure causing resistance is applied to your arms.

  PROSTATE SPECIFIC ANTIGEN (PSA)

PSA measures a substance called Prostate Specific Antigen. PSA testing is an effective aid in the detection of prostate cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends PSA testing yearly for men beginning at age 50, and for younger men who are at high risk.

Not all-prostate cancers produce elevated levels of PSA, and increased levels may occur with advancing age, infection, and benign prostatic hypertrophy. It should be used in conjunction with digital rectal exam. We will only do a simple finger stick blood draw for this screening with the results taking about 2 weeks to receive in the mail.

Procedure: Simple finger stick blood draw is performed.

* PSA and Thyroid screenings are obtained by fingerstick blood samples and sent to BIOSAFE Labs to analyze. Confidential results will be mailed directly to participant in 2 weeks.

  REFLEXOLOGY SESSION

Recommended for everyone.

Reflexology is a healing practice where pressure is applied to certain areas of the foot – and sometimes the hands and ears – to bring healing to the body. These areas are called zones or reflexes; the heart of reflexology is the theory that each zone or reflex corresponds to a particular organ in the body.
The energy flow through the body can be blocked in these zones, causing stress and impairs the proper function of certain organs in the body. When the organs of the body fail to do their work properly, illnesses develop.

Procedure: Seated comfortably in a chair or on a table. Removal of shoes and hosiery necessary.

  SPINAL SCAN ANALYSIS

The spinal check depends on the chiropractor attending your particular event. It can range from a personalized questionairre, where no physical contact is made, to a physical scan of your spine using the hands down your back, but through the clothes, to a thermal imaging unit on the neck.

We always try to arraign to have a chiropractor with these units. This equipment rolls down the neck to as far as the collar opening will allow, then displays or prints off on a separate sheet of paper different colored bar codes for each vertebra. Depending on the color of the bars on the graph, the scan reveals the level of heat given off a particular vertebra and therefore indicating possible injury or the need for a doctors care.

Procedure: You choose from a questionairre with no physical contact or for a physical scan of your spin. This includes hands down your back, but through your clothes.

  THYROID TESTING

TSH testing measures a chemical substance produced by the anterior pituitary gland called Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. TSH regulates the production of hormones by the thyroid gland. An abnormal level of TSH in the blood indicates the likelihood that the thyroid is not functioning normally. Hypothyroidism is the condition caused when the thyroid produces less thyroid hormones than the body needs. Hyperthyroidism is caused when the thyroid produces more hormone (T-4) than the body needs. Out of every 10 individuals with hypothyroidism (the most common disorder), 7 to 8 are women.

Procedure: A simple finger stick blood draw is used. It is likened to a very small pin prick.

  VIBRATION MACHINE SESSION

Recommended for everyone.

Vibration Therapy results in rapid and intense muscle fiber contractions 30-50 times per second. While this may not seem like it would have any desired effect, in fact the manner in which the body responds to these vibrations is truly amazing! Scientific research has shown that the human body is unparalleled in its ability to adapt to various external stressors and stimuli, and the resulting benefits derived from Vibration Exercise Fitness are from that adaptation process. The original intended benefit of Vibration Exercise Fitness Therapy was increased bone density and muscle strength, but it turned out that the first advantage many users noticed was a dramatic increase in flexibility and range of motion. The quick contractions of muscle fiber not only created flexibility, but also burned fat, increased metabolism, improved circulation, improved cellular oxygen and nutrient delivery which slows the degenerative/ageing process!

Procedure: You must stand on the vibration machine to participate in session.
